Welcome

Are you new?
We offer 2 chances to worship with us! We have a Traditional service at 9 am and a Contemporary service at 11:15 am. Adult connect groups and youth/children Sunday school classes meet at 10:15am. Locations can be found here. We welcome newcomers in all discipleship opportunities and worship!

Our nursery is open during the Sunday school and worship hours. Our nursery workers have probably 80 years of combined nursery experience between them. Our Ms. Sarah is now working with the children of children that she helped to raise in our church years ago!
Children of all ages are welcome to worship in the sanctuary with us. We love the sound of new life during worship and desire to worship as an intergenerational congregation. If, however, there is a need for a quieter space, our service is available out in our Commons area with both sound and video. We typically have a children’s moment during every service. Natalie Craddock, our Pastor of Children’s Ministry usually shares a message with the kids during that time.
Our 9 am service runs about an hour in length and the 11:15 am service is about 45 minuntes in length. There are times we go over, especially if we have a sacrament (baptism and/or communion). If we go over an hour, it rarely exceeds 15 minutes… but childcare is always open until the last child is retrieved by their parents.
Our worship services are comfortable and casual. Some people dress in coat and tie… others come in jeans and t-shirts. Please just wear what makes you comfortable.
Parking can be found all around the church and we do have a parking lot in the back. If you park in the back, you will enter the building through our gymnasium and walk through our commons area to find the sanctuary up the stairs on the right. The commons area is often bustling with welcoming fellowship, coffee, and donuts.
Please let us know you are coming to visit for Sunday school and/or worship! We love to offer visitors warm southern hospitality!

History

100 Years at 32 North Irving.
The history of First Presbyterian goes back to February 1885, when seven people met with the Rev. J.H. Zivley, to begin plans to organize a Presbyterian church in San Angelo. By the end of the year there were 35 members.
On September 11, 1886, the three lots on which the present church now stands were purchased for $500. Within the next year a small white church building, designed by Oscar Ruffini, was constructed. It stood at the corner of College and Irving Streets facing north on College.
Vision
Know God, Love God, Share GodOur Vision for the Church in San Angelo.
In 2018, First Presbyterian Church formed a Renewal Committee to discern God’s call for FPC in today’s world. After reading Jake Mulder and Kara Powell’s Growing Young, we engaged in a two-year consultation with Fuller Youth Institute.
