Information on Speaker’s Fund
The Margaret Odum Speaker’s Fund was established at her death, April 27, 1981, as a tribute to her didication and devotion to the church. Margaret was the wife of the The Rev, Harold Odum, who served as pastor of FPC for 30 years, from 1957-1986.
Funded by donations and memorials, the Margaret Odum Speaker’s Fund brought many outstanding speakers to First Presbyterian Church. Established in 2010, the B.T. & Gil Horton Endowed Speaker’s Fund was made possible through the generous gift of Gil’s family following her death at age 94. Gil was a pioneer in Christian Education in West Texas, and loved the study of the faith in Christ Jesus. Gil and her husband Ben were active members of First Presbyterian Church for many years. This fund will ensure that theologians, ministers, and teachers will continue to brought to the San Angelo community for many years to come.
